Active Camera, invented by RoboSense, is a groundbreaking category in robotic vision designed to tackle the challenges of mobility perception and operational cognition.
The AC1, the first in this series, integrates multiple sensors to deliver hardware-level fusion of depth information, image data, and motion posture data, synchronized in time and space. This enables robots to capture comprehensive environmental details, overcoming interference from sunlight and highly reflective surfaces, and adapting to diverse indoor and outdoor scenarios.
RoboSense’s AI-Ready ecosystem equips Active Camera with essential open-source tools—such as drivers, calibration, and data fusion—alongside advanced algorithms for localization, SLAM, and multimodal perception. These resources empower AC1 developers to efficiently craft universal, elegant solutions, unlocking smarter behaviors and enhanced functionalities in robots.

Operating TemperatureRoboSense has built an AI-Ready ecosystem for robot developers, offering tools such as drivers, data calibration, and data fusion through the AC Studio for Active Camera users. It also provides open-source algorithms like SLAM and advanced multimodal perception, supporting deep secondary development. The AC Viewer, a dedicated cross-platform software, ensures optimal experiences in data fusion, SLAM, and object detection.
Additionally, the AI-Ready ecosystem offers obstacle avoidance and recognition datasets to help developers train model algorithms.
This ecosystem helps AC1 users overcome challenges in robotic mobility perception and operational cognition, significantly lowering development barriers, improving efficiency, and enabling developers to create universal, efficient, and elegant intelligent robots.
AC1 breaks the limits of traditional 3D cameras, offering outstanding performance to fully meet the needs of smart robots in indoor and outdoor obstacle avoidance, mapping, and hand-eye coordination, greatly enhancing efficiency and safety.
The AC1 utilized multiple cutting-edge patented technologies from RoboSense, ensuring its ranging capability and accuracy remain unaffected by ambient light or object materials. This enables robots to operate reliably in complex environments, including lighting transitions, dark environments, and reflective surfaces.
The AC1 effectively resists strong light interference, maintaining a maximum detection range of 70 meters and a ranging accuracy of 3cm@1σ even under 100kLux sunlight. Additionally, it effectively suppresses issues such as crosstalk, overexposure, and missed detections caused by highly reflective materials, allowing precise identification of stainless steel surfaces and high-reflectivity warning strips.
The AC1 has a wide operating temperature range, providing stable and reliable 3D environmental perception data in both -20°C cold environments and +60°C high-temperature conditions. Its sensor hardware uses all-solid-state modules with no moving scanning parts, offering strong mechanical resistance and withstanding external impacts and random vibrations encountered during robot calibration and application in harsh conditions.
To help developers quickly deploy Active Camera and integrate it into the AI-Ready ecosystem, AC Studio supports computing platforms such as RK3588, Orin N, and Horizon Sunrise series, along with their developer kits. This ensures developers across various domains can easily leverage Active Camera for their projects.
The AC1 can be widely applied in various scenarios that require the fusion of depth, color, and motion posture information, including but not limited to humanoid robots, drones, warehouse robots, industrial robots, 3D scanning and modeling, and material detection. Through the AI-Ready ecosystem, RoboSense collaborates with developers from various fields to explore more application scenarios and provide additional open-source AI technology support, working together towards the era of embodied intelligence.
